Gainesville has been the seat of Hall County since 1821, and today it is a city of more than 42,000 people with homes stretching from downtown out to the shores of Lake Lanier. Every one of those homes pushes the same air through its ductwork again and again. When dust, lint, pet hair and mildew pile up inside, you smell it and you breathe it. Our air duct cleaning removes that buildup from the source.
Lake Lanier formed in the 1950s, when the Army Corps of Engineers built Buford Dam on the Chattahoochee River, and Gainesville sits right on its shore. Living by the water is the draw. It also means a lot of moisture in the air from late spring through early fall.
Many lake lots slope toward the water, so homes are built with terrace levels or walk-out basements dug into the hillside. Those lower floors stay cool, and cool, humid air is exactly where mildew grows. When the return pulls from that level, the musty smell travels to the bedrooms upstairs. Duct cleaning alone does not fix this. Start with a mold test so you know what you are dealing with, then dry the space out with a whole-house or crawl space dehumidifier. Lake area homes on a crawl space can go further with crawl space encapsulation, which seals out ground moisture for good. Once the moisture is under control, Gainesville air duct cleaning finishes the job by taking the leftover spores and dust out of the system.
On April 6, 1936, a tornado tore through Gainesville and destroyed or badly damaged about 800 homes. Much of the city was rebuilt in the years after, and the Green Street Historic District, added to the National Register in 1975, keeps some of its oldest houses. Since then the city has spread out with subdivisions around the lake and along the main roads. Each kind of house has its own air problem:
| Gainesville home | What we usually find | What helps |
|---|---|---|
| Older homes near downtown and Green Street | Aging ductwork, decades of dust, stale odors | Duct cleaning plus sanitizing and odor removal |
| Lake homes with terrace levels | High humidity, musty lower floors | Mold test, dehumidifier, then duct cleaning |
| Newer subdivisions | Construction dust, a coil that slows airflow | Duct cleaning and AC coil cleaning |

We recently had our air ducts cleaned by Fresh Cleaning Solutions and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The technician arrived on time, explained the process clearly, and completed a full cleaning of all supply and return vents along with sanitizing the HVAC system. We immediately noticed improved airflow and less dust throughout the home.
David and his staff did an amazing job on all three of our HVAC duct cleaning services, and they even provided free dryer vent cleaning as well. From start to finish, the team was professional, friendly, punctual, and very thorough in their work.
I normally don't do reviews but I had to do this one! I needed to get my air ducts cleaned and David with Fresh Cleaning Solutions was referred. David was all of professional! He explained the process and was very thorough. He provided us with what to look out for. Oh might I add, they were very quick too!

Lake homes deal with a lot of humidity, and many have terrace levels built into a hillside that stay cool and damp. That is where mildew grows. The return pulls that air into the system and spreads the smell through the house. We usually start with a mold test, control the moisture with a dehumidifier or crawl space encapsulation, then clean and sanitize the ducts.
It depends on the size of your home and how many vents and returns your system has. We look at the system for free and quote one flat rate before any work starts, with no hidden fees and no surprise charges at the end. Gainesville jobs are priced the same as jobs near our Suwanee shop, and the dryer vent cleaning is included free with duct cleaning.
